Etymology

R.A.L.E.G. is an acronym for Rehian-Aelisch-Livongrodian Expedition Group, the country's full name.

Currently the country is called Free Provinces of Astria, considering they arrived from the stars. The province part is because their country officially uses Provinces, instead of any other name for the land division.

History

Modern Era

In about 2225, the Aelisch, Livongrodian, Rehian, and many other small groups joined together to create a ship capable of visiting other realities, yet the purpose of this ordeal was never known to anyone. All the population living on Earth Nova did know, was that things would change.

That same year, the ship was launched, and they flew far into the unknown, that is - before their ship started malfunctioning - this malfunction caused the ship to hit a rock and detour, falling into a portal... Leading them into Nezomere. They have inspected the grounds they landed on, and seeing that nobody has claimed it before them - they took it, hoping to continue their research from there.

Nezomere Era

In Nezomere, the RALEG country has decided to involve itself in a conflict, the NSP war - which they won simply because NSP gave up before a fight happened, otherwise they'd most likely be squished either way... This allowed them to claim territory bordering NSP, but nothing of note has happened there yet, outside of discovering an Oasis [and setting up settlements around that area].

The first elections were held just weeks after settling in, which the RR party has won (Jöns Gabrielssynne becoming the president) - yet their success was doomed to fail when the Kubonicists have contacted the rather racist, and possibly even speciesist Livongrodians - causing a coup and civil war to emerge. With the power of the RCP and NewLEG! coalition army, the Livongrodians were squashed... Yet the country was still doomed.

After another election, Akryll Kyyted was elected, now hoping to fix the issues that have since occurred. He sees himself as a successor to Jöns Gabrielssynne, and will try to do as he would've wanted.

Currently, the country has been renamed to Free Provinces of Astria (moving past their 'colonial' name, as they're a full-fledged country now), yet the rest of the article will remain with the old name, due to history and preservation.

Annexation of Astria

Following the May 31st elections in the country, the Free Provinces of Astria elected the Pro-Krukyr unification Astrian Nezointegration Party, paving the path of the Astrian provinces becoming a part of the Krugen Ecumene. This decision was done on the grounds of instability in the country, due to the governments inability to enforce their authority over the provinces as they had subpar communication with their expedition groups - leading them to the decision of giving up their power to their allies on Nezomere. The Krugen government accepted this offer on the 1st of June 2025, making them responsible for all diplomatic and political affairs.

Astria also owns the Astrian Media Sphere.
