History

The Empire was founded by the Hermitic people of Northern Loquille, in an area they call Seyest. The Seyestic people consist of three main people groups: Hermits, Lunites, and Central Seyestic people such as the Ravagi. Originally separate nations, they all faced a pandemic, which ended up killing over 100,000,000 people over 25 years. Towards the last 10 years of the Pandemic a war between the Lunites, Ravagi as well as the other Central Seyestic people broke out due to mass disorder and lack of resources. However, the Hermits and their country - The Hermitic Theocratic State, were not involved in this war, as they managed to control the disease better, as well as the fact they were a resource-rich country. Eventually, the rest of the Seyestic countries collapsed, and the Hermitic Theocratic State absorbed and united them into the Seyestic Theocratic Empire. The Magen - a non-seyestic but central loquillan people group also form an important part of the country’s history, as both the Hermits and Magen follow the same religion, and as the liturgical language of the Hermitic Faith is Magen.

Magen Prehistory

The first evidence for people living in the region the country is situated in was 5000 years ago, when the Magen first settled in the modern day region of Asteria. However, evidence for the Magen people's existence goes back 7000 years, along the west coast of Heart Lake. Archeological records show traditional jewellery, similarly worn by the Magen today being buried along with people, which most likely showed status.

The First Magen Lordship

The first Magen Lordship was established when the Magen settled in the Asterian Peninsula. They founded one of the now capitals of the country - Bay of the Wheat Horde. The first Lordship collapsed only a year after the founding of Bay of the Wheat Horde, 5300 years ago. The country was split into smaller lordships, with this period mainly being met with exploration, especially of the Seleny isles. The exploration of the Seleny isles led to an increase in infrastructure, with many cities such as Tsi and Herastas being founded.

The Second Magen Lordship

The second Magen Lordship was founded 1300 years later around 4000 years ago. This was the longest surviving Magen lordship, lasting until the arrival of humans in the year 0. It came about when the Lord of Herastas - Ƿytsen Majës at the time conquered the other Magen Lordships in the Asterian Peninsula.
